It time to start our ogham project back up.  If we were following the ogham alphabet strictly, the next letters/trees in order would be S/ Saile/ Willow;  N/Nion/Ash;  H/Huath/Hawthorn;  D/Duir/Oak;  T/Tinne/Holly;  C/Coll/Hazel.  Since we have already covered Ash, Hawthorn and Oak we will be looking at Willow, Holly & Hazel in the next 2 Lore Meetings.  Please look these up and be prepared to contribute to the discussion on the next 2 Thursdays.  See You Then!

I may wimp out a little bit. I may not be at the Grove as early as 10.  But between 12:30 and 1:00. That's my goal. So plan to have odds and ends for me to do, and I will do them.  Looking forward to a fun and meaningful Imbolc.

Imbolc High Rite at CedarLight Grove

What:  Imbolc High Rite honoring the goddess Brigid in all three of her forms.

When:  This Saturday, gather no later than 3PM with ritual at 4PM  Please see our Imbolc announcement at:  http://www.cedarlightgrove.org/imbolc.php
-There will be a portion of the ritual dedicated to offerings to the goddess.  Please let me know what you are planning to bring an, (item, song, dance, etc) so that I can coordinate the time and placement with you.  My email is carynmacluan@earthlink.net

Note:  This rite will be outside.  It will be cold...very cold.  I highly recommend snow boots, gloves, hats, and layers.  We will have hot cider to toast the goddess, feel free to bring a thermal mug to keep your cider warm longer.

There is an ongoing discussion of Imbolc and the ritual on our website forum under Grove Discussion.  Please feel free to join in.

We will be going over the ritual at Thursday's Lore Meeting from 7pm - 9pm at CedarLight Center.

Please note, I need help performing a physical and magical cleansing of the building and grounds prior to the ritual.  We had planned this for the last 2 weekends and got snowed out.  I plan to be at the Grove Space by 10 AM on Saturday.  I would be ever so grateful if some folks would be so kind as to show up early and help.  I know that no one really likes to clean but its a necessity when regularly using a space for magical purposes.  Energy/magical work attracts energy both positive and negative.  Understanding this and working to clear out, transform and get moving the stagnate energies in the spaces is not only critical to effectiveness of our rites but more importantly to the health and well-being of the people using and living in the space.  If you have any ideas or things you would like to use towards this end, please feel free to bring them.

Nine Blessings,
Rev.Caryn MacLuan
CedarLight Grove, ADF

Hammers and anvils, huh?  Sounds Wagnerian to me....

This Thursday (weather permitting) we will be holding a shamanic style journey to meet Brigid.  A good deal of information has recently been posted to the Imbolc High Rite thread under Grove discussion.  If you plan to attend on Thursday, please read through the threads on Brigid to have a better understanding of the goddess.

I am even now trying to come up with the proper background music.  Will is over here suggesting I bring up the anvil and beat on it with a hammer..... Well I asked...
