I am uploading recordings of the music we will be incorporating that night (and hope that Kelly follows suit with her Manannan song) so that we have all at least heard the tune before next Saturday.
The First is a poem by JRR Tolkien that was written and repeated throughout his writings, and compiled here as a song. Although many tunes are available, I found the tune from the Lord of the Rings movies the easiest to both learn and teach. (And ugh...it really stays in your head all day after...) We will be using it as our processional into the sanctuary.
The tune itself is found in the file called "Bag End" and starts with Ian McKellan singing the tune...and then it descends into musical score. You'll probably recognize it.
The second song is also from Lord of the Rings, called "Into The West" and sung by Annie Lennox. I will lead us in singing it during the passing of the waters of life, as the tune is a bit more complicated than our processional song.
Copies of all lyrics will be printed with the program, but you can also print your own if you'd like.
Let's see how many attachments I can make on one post...
I will post again soon with the full ritual outline, which will be listed on this thread with the program attached in printable form for your convenience.
I sound like a freakin' flight attendant.
