Crystal, just got this reply back from Circle Sanctuary.  Could you pass this on to the other Groves who were participating?  Thank you.

"Thanks for your fundraising effort for donations to Operation Circle Care.  Please send these items directly to the coordinator, Paula Johnson.  This will help us not pay for shipping twice by having them sent here and having us send them to her to include in the packages.

Please send to:

Paula Johnson

Lynn University-Ritter Building

3601 N. Military Trail

Boca Raton, FL 33432

Thanks again for your support and donations!!

Bright Blessings,

Evelyn

Center Assistant"

I have a thorough list made but more were added this weekend.  I more than likely won't be up next weekend because I'll be babysitting, but the weekend after I'll be up to pack up everything.  I figure I will go with the Post Office since they charge by size of box, not by weight.

I'd like to get a picture of all our items next week to archive as a charity event.

Debbie, were you able to get a list of the items this weekend?  If not, we can get one next weekend while I'm setting everything up for pictures.

I wish I had gotten a picture of everyone making the talismans yesterday, that would have been PERFECT.  DAMN.

Oh well :)

Ok, I just spoke with them.  They said each grove to get a general list of the items being sent and email that to:

circle@circlesanctuary.org

He said they need to get ready to organized for the items in order to know where to send each item, as in which soldier requested what.  I think its easier for them with cash donations, but they are accepting these, too.

He also said that once the email with the list is sent out, to be patient with the reply as they will be engaged in their Lughnasadhe service too.

The main phone is 608-924-2216, 9am-5pm.  When I called, though, the gentleman answered almost immediately.

I will be up this Sunday so I can start on our list of items and email them right away.

I'm double checking on this.  I have an address, but want to be certain for everyone.

Debbie, do you know the address (I looked around and didn't find it) to send these packages too?  I'm sending this info to the other Grove's involved.

Charm of the Cloak and Spear

Call we the Cloak of Brigid the High One.
Call we the Long-striking Spear of Lugh.
From the Hand of the Shining Ones
To the Grove of the Gate,
We ask the blessing of the Cloak and Spear.

Brigid of the Waters,
Brigid of the Kindling
Brigid of the Milk of Blessing
O Triple Lady of Fire and Water,
Goddess of Poets, Healers and Smiths
Weave for our warriors warding, Hearth-Mother, Wise One,
Your starry cloak settle upon them.
High One, accept our Sacrifice
(an offering of milk and bread is given)

O Lugh Victorious, a warrior’s Light and Guide
Clever One, Sure Hand, Sorcerer and Bard
Prince and King, Slayer of Balor
Master of Wisdoms, hear us.
Let your long-striking Spear be over our warriors,
Like lightening in every direction turning.
Long-Handed One, accept our sacrifice!
(an offering of whiskey and black feathers is made)

By your blessing Shining Ones
Let the Starry Cloak be upon them
Let the Nine-pointed Spear be over them
That no ill come upon them,
And their might be made great!

(I hope Ian doesn't mind our doing that to his prayer)

Geez, never mind.  I did a Debbie.  I scanned it too quickly as I'm at work and the phones are nutz.

It IS an awesome prayer.  I shall have to work hard to memorize it, if possible.  I once memorized "The Raven" but that was a very long time ago when I had a brain.

That is really nice, but I was hoping to ask Lugh to bless them.

I know its still early to be planning the Lughnasadh rite...but Lugh doesn't always listen to me when I say these things....>.>

ANYWAY! I found an AWESOME blessing for the military items that I wanted to show you Debbie before I forget. It was written by Ian Corrigan and he explained it to us at one of the workshops:

Charm of the Cloak and Spear

Call I the Cloak of Brigid the High One.
Call I the Long-striking Spear of Lugh.
From the Hand of the Shining Ones
To the Grove of the Gate,
I ask the blessing of the Cloak and Spear.
Brigid of the Waters,
Brigid of the Kindling
Brigid of the Milk of Blessing
O Triple Lady of Fire and Water,
Goddess of Poets, Healers and Smiths
Weave for me warding, Hearth-Mother, Wise One
Your starry cloak settle upon me here.
High One, accept my Sacrifice
(an offering of milk and bread is given)
O Lugh Victorious, my light and my Guide
Clever One, Sure Hand, Sorcerer and Bard
Prince and King, Slayer of Balor
Master of Wisdoms, hear me.
Let your long-striking Spear be over my Fire,
Like lightening in every direction turning.
Long-Handed One, accept my sacrifice!
(an offering of whiskey and black feathers is made)
By your blessing Shining Ones
Let the Starry Cloak be upon me
Let the Nine-pointed Spear be over me
That no ill come upon me,
And my might be made great!

Of course we'll need to tweek it a little to suit the blessing of the items. It also has a sigil he designed to go with it that I am planning on making into talismans to go with it. What do you think?

Also...this is probably a long shot, but Crystal, do you think the other Grove participating in this with us would be interested in joining us for our Lughnasadh rite this year? It would be fun to have a joint grove rite...I know they do live kind of far away though...

I don't see why not, but I will email them to be sure.

BTW can we order things, have it sent to circle sanctuary in  CLGs name and just put the receipt in the box?  Save postage and extra fossil fuels in not having to send it twice?

This is wonderful.  Absolutely wonderful!

Now, are they sending everything to us to get mailed out or is each grove doing their own mailing?
Are they all offering the donations up on Lughnasadh like we are?
