Title: Yule Newsletter is up!
Post by: Crystal on December 17, 2009, 08:37:41 AM
Our Yule newsletter is up and ready for viewing thanks to our newsletter team.  There are tons of recipes, events that have been going on around here as of late, discussion on the virtue of Moderation, etc.  Members may check it out now online, non-members can pick up printed versions at the Grove or at local shops where we will be distributing them.

(If I am able to get to work tomorrow, I will bring printed copies to the Grove.)

If you are not a member but would like to receive digital copies of our newsletter, consider becoming an associate member instead.  You do not have to attend high rites to become a supportive member of CedarLight Grove.

Members can view digital copies online here:

(If you forget the members only login, it is posted here: http://www.cedarlightgrove.org/board/index.php?topic=1915.0)

As always, we are looking for submissions for our next newsletter.  Please take the time to share some of your thoughts, dedicant essays, bardic pieces, recipes, pictures, etc with us.  Please submit pieces for the Imbolc newsletter by January 23rd to newsletter@cedarlightgrove.org.
Title: Imbolc Newletter Challenge
Post by: Wayne on December 20, 2009, 04:57:03 AM
Alright you you stalwart members of CLG, time marches on, and we have to start thinking about the Imbolc newsletter.  I would like to propose a writing challenge.  Write 100-200 words for the newsletter on how you experience diety or the divine in your daily lives.  This is a relatively wide open subject so you can take it in many directions.  I will publish your pieces anononmously if you like.  If we get enough people, we can really see how our grove mates view the divine differently (or the same?)  It is a good topic to reflect on and sometimes putting things down on paper can crystalize thoughts that are otherwise unclear or vague.

If anybody wants, they can write a thousand words on this topic and I will publish it separately as a full length article.  The 100-200 words will allow for a broad sampling of different beliefs in one section of the newsletter.  You don't have to be exacting with the word count.  If you go to 250 I will not be upset.

Do we post it here or email it and to whom?  Thank you.  Its a fantastic idea.  A way of bonding our little family even more.

Still looking for submissions for Imbolc :)

Yule news letters will be available this weekend at the Grove to review.  But members can already view online.

Still looking for submissions for Imbolc :)

It is going to be a good one, but you can make it better.  Will has a good article on ritual processionals.  I will be responding to Will's article from Samhain.  And we all have the challenge of writing a brief piece on how we expereince divintiy or the divine in our daily lives.  If someone wanted to contribute an article on Imbolc, that would also be appreciated.

I have emailed Ivo a copy of the newsletter.  He said that if we send one he will print it and hang a copy or two on Bell Book and Candle's cork board in the front of the store. :)
