 Last night's lore mtg journey into the well was exceptional.  Everyone there had a healing experience with water.

Sunday: we will begin to talk seriously about the Mabon highrite.  I think we need to think out of the box on this one.

Sunday:  Arts meeting after rites of caffeina.  This is set to be a stitch & bitch to make ritual garb.  If this is really a bad time for this, I need to know so we can reschedule.
-Note we also need vollunteers to mow the grass and possibly re-dig the well one of those could wait unitl next weekend.

Next Thursday:  Healer's Guild meeting with instruction on basic massage.  Wear loose clothing that you wouldn't mind your feet up in the air in.  Folks might want to bring a pillow.

Crystal doesn't know how to sew... I know we talked about it, but we never set a date????

I remember seeing something on your proposed schedule for September and October, but I thought that was proposed.

I'm sorry. I thought that since no one voiced any negative opinions of the schedule I handed out that it was OK and since the ritual garb idea was very popular, that would be our first arts meeting.  But I also realize that folks have a lot on their plates right now so maybe we should reschedule for another time.  We all need a little time to breathe, to talk and to remember why we aredoing this.

I have been thinking of a grove retreat, possibly a campout but definitely a place where we can all talk, get everything off our chests and not continue to carry the heavy emotions that many of us are grappling with at the moment.

found my copy of your schedule-- it said 'arts' so maybe we can do some fall crafts, stuff for ritual? maybe plan the stitch and bitch a little farther in advance so people have time to pick fabric and whatnot

Our next Lore Mtg, this coming Thursday Sep 16th, will be a Healer's Guild mtg and our own Sas will be covering basic massage techniques.  She asks that we wear comfortable and least 50% natural fiber clothing.  Skirts might not be appropriate as you might end up with your legs over your head.  She will not be using oil and there will be no removal of clothing.  However everyone will be required to wash their hands before the class and after its finished.  Chinese medicine and just common sense.
Hope to see you there.

Greetings All,
I would like to invite you all to CedarLight Grove's Mabon Highrite!
When?  Saturday Sep 25th at 6PM  folks can arrive anytime after 3PM.

This rite is intended to be a fun rite, dress in your festival attire, bright silly colors, clothes that you can have fun in. We will be decoarting some masks for wear into the ritual. You can bring your own or make one (they are not intended to be offered to the fire)

We plan to call familiar deities that the Grove has worked with regularly.  Danu, mother of the gods, goddess of the land and the rivers as the earth mother.  Tailtue, patron of CedarLight Center as the intersessor between us and the gods, Dagda (the good god) warrior, bard, womanizer, and father and his daughter Brigid, goddess of bards, healing and protection.

Once they have been called into the sanctuary, we will honor them with an offering of food and invite them to join us for a feast and bardic circle.  If we can get someone to do face painting, we will do that.  We will have sing-a-longs and storytelling around the fire and lots of food.  Personal conversations with the gods should be done at this time.
(PLEASE bring a dish to pass, we will have the grill out and ready.  Note: Chicken takes a long time if it has not been precooked)

We will be collecting food for our fall charity endeavor.  Please donate one item of non-perishable food! All donations will go to the Bea Gaddy Foundation in Baltimore.

Once we are done with our festing and songs and stories, we will gather back in the sanctuary at ask for the guidance of the gods and for their blessing in this rite.  The waters of life will be passsed and we will thank all we have invited and close the gates between the wolrds.

CedarLight Center does not survive on goodwill alone, please consider reserecting some of the dead presidents in your pocket into the Dagda's Cauldron so that they may be reserected as pagans in the service of the pagan community!

Bright Blessings
Caryn

Alas! I will not be able to attend Mabon.  Since the weather is good, I will be replacing my roof so I can get the big blue tarp out of there.  Probably won't make it to Rites of Caffiena, either, but hopefully I will be there Monday for the full moon ritual.

This week's Lore Meeting is on the Fire.  We will discuss the use of fire in magic, mundane, healing, visualizations and anything else you can think of to add.

Next week we will journey through the fire to see what's on the other side.

Caryn,

That's too cool. I'm sure it will go well.  My thoughts, prayers, and magic (what little I know) goes with you. You and Will will do an excellent job at sharing that Druidic message.
