Weather Vs. The Elections - Contingency Plans?
« on: December 12, 2007, 08:20:33 PM »
If this storm they're calling for hits, we're supposed to get icy weather Saturday night and a good bit of snow on Sunday.

Do we have a backup plan in case the weather interferes with the elections and the Witan meeting on the 16th?

Off to write more holiday lists,
Kat   :P

I'm just going to wait and see how things go on Saturday I think.  If the plows have done a decent enough job on Sunday I'll be down.

If not we may want to look at the 22nd or 23rd.  We may still be able to announce the votes if we can get the 2 remaining people to vote and the one that voted via paper can email their vote in as well.

Just saying ahead of time, if this coming Sunday doesn't work out, I won't be available to count ballots the following weekend. I'm leaving for Massachusetts on the 21st.

If the roads are too bad then they are too bad.

BTW, remember that just because the main and secondary roads have been plowed...that doesn't mean Edna Ave has.  Those of us who have been around for awhile are quite aware of this.

If the roads are passable then we are going to need a crew up about 9:30 to help dig out the area out front and the driveway so that folks can park. -Bring snow shovels...

I agree with Crystal, we may simply have to postpone a week.

Latest weather reports are no longer calling for ice so that's a relief.

As of about 15 minutes ago (just after 1205am, Dec.15th) it is supposed to rain pretty good most of the day on Sunday.  No ice or snow, so other than being damp all should be well.  Of course, there being nearly 36 hours until then, who knows what might occur.

Well, well, as of this morning the weather prediction has changed once again.    Just gonna have to wait and see I suppose.  I'll attempt to keep the walkways safe, but not much I can do about the roads.

Dad left about an hour ago to do some early shopping and is going to let me know how the roads are when he gets back.

By the looks of it, it looks like mostly rain down your way, and POSSIBLE icy stuff up here earlier this morning, but tapering off into rain as of now.

We'll see how things are at 9am when I usually leave.
