Journey to Harford County and beyond
« on: October 16, 2010, 10:35:08 PM »
So I mentioned I was considering this, and I'd like to see if anyone of my Druid friends has an interest in it.

I will be leading a meditative journey in Harford County with my friend Alli (whom you have seen poking about on the forums), the specific topic of which is still being debated in my mind. I believe at this moment (subject to change) we will be journeying to the Otherworld.

The specifics are as such:

Who: Myself and Alli, and interested CLG folks (Members only, please)
What: Journey session. We will be using rattles and drums and other musical stimuli.
When: October 23rd, Saturday. Meeting around 7pm
Where: 2700 Greene Road, Baldwin, MD 21013  (the 'e' on Greene is important)
Why: 42
Cost: None. Bring an open mind, a sleeping bag and something for your head to rest upon. If you like, you may bring crystals or other personal affects such as feathers, teeth, stones...whatever you feel you need.

I know you all have a moon rite the night before that I can't get off for, so I don't expect that many will be able to attend. This is more of my private spiritual practice that I am opening to the membership rather bravely.

If you want to know more, talk to me tomorrow.

Greene road sounds like you're referring to the Sweet Air park area or thereabouts.
Are you talking about spending the night there?
Do you know somewhere that they'll allow camping in the Sweet Air area?
That would be really nice if they did as there's been many a time that I've wished for a place nearby that I could spend the night under the moon.

I am seriously thinking about joining you. did you have a goal in mind (I'm sure you do). I meant to ask you that yesterday.  I will have to let you know later in the week though if I can join you.

Heya everyone!  Friendly ol' Harford county person here who is hosting said event.  *waves*

If people want to camp, they are welcome to do so.  We have two sites where we will possibly be having the meditation.  Both places have firepits, and both are camp-able.  Though one is my micro-farm (and has potty facilities) and the other is my brother in laws farm down the road (and does NOT have potty facilities...other than trees.).

I think Ashley and I would -like- to have it down at the farm, but its up in the air still I believe on which locale we will be using.  Either way, yes, camping is available if you would like to do so!  And yes, its around the Sweet Air area.  Baldwin/Fallston Baltimore/Hardford county line.

Oh bother. I wish I'd noticed this happening sooner, it's probably too late to commit.

It's not too late if you can make it!

Caravan/Carpool will be leaving from my Apartment complex parking lot at 6:30 pm. (if that time changes due to work or traffic, I will pass the word along this evening)

The journey will be a short discussion, followed by a journey that will be one part guided meditation just to get you guys out there.

We will be journeying to the Other World, the world within our world in which spirits pass unseen. We will be journeying to acknowledge our achievements and empower us and our potential for the future. We may learn of what does not serve us and must be cast off to achieve our goals.

Affirmation. Belief. Empowerment.

Again, I repeat:

Bring a sleeping bag, an offering of food or silver (real silver, not nickel), something to rest your head upon, and an open mind. We will be using musical stimuli.

If you have any questions, feel free to text me during the day, but keep in mind that I'm at work so my responses will be slow.  PLEASE let me know if you're coming so we don't leave without you. :D

As a note to those coming to the event:

It gets very cold here once the sun goes down.  Several degrees colder than the Parkville/Baltimore region.  So wear -lots- of layers.  Better to be able to take some off, than be too cold.  >.<
