I'm a very big fan of doing something with an animal shelter.   :)

I'm a fan of Luna's House.
http://lunashouse.org/

We've raised funds for them before. :) They may have volunteer opportunities also.

I think this is what we're going to do for Imbolc. Since we are encouraging people to not spend money to make their High Rite offerings, perhaps they will have some money to donate. I'll make a blurb about it on the Imbolc invites when those are done, and of course we'll have a basket or something that we'll show people at pre-ritual brief.

So, we still haven't decided what to do and we're running out of time. Several people wanted a more active community service then just donating money. I agree but it's also a difficult time of year to plan for in terms of temperature and weather. If we go this route, what are we going to do and when?

Weekends for most folks between now and Imbolc are probably already accounted for by now, so maybe we can do something the day after Imbolc or perhaps on MLK day? I would probably have to bring Zayden.

Bump. Tick tock, tick tock. What do we want to do here? Cash donation to MD Food Bank, House of Ruth, Luna's House, the other healing one that I can't find now? Loch Raven clean-up on Sunday Feb 2 pending temp/weather? Something else?

I'm for either the Joyful Heart foundation donation or Luna's house.

Anyone have a preference? We need to pick one and make an announcement.

I recommend when getting down to the wire, or when there is no general consensus, to just pick something and lead on.  People generally follow from there.   Saves a lot of trouble in the end, trust me! :D

Luna's House-- just because of all the snow and cold, I'm glad someone is taking care of wayward animals. They're local.

I definitely recommend making a separate donation box because folks have commented that they want to donate to the grove and to the charity.

Also, I thought we were leaning towards more hands on charity work instead of trying to throw money at things?

Caryn, we are. It's just a bit too cold right now and a bit too last minute to do anything else. Beltaine we should probably head back to the graveyard for some spring cleaning.

I think Chelsea volunteers at Barcs, I should ask her about that.
