Imbolc Weather
« on: February 05, 2008, 11:35:21 AM »
Joe just IMed me and said we may get a wintery mix for Saturday (I'm not seeing it on accuweather.com but that doesn't mean it couldn't happen).

We may want to plan out some "Plan B" options for the high rite.  Whether that means indoors or another date.

Well depending on the number of people who show up, we could do it in the pavillion or in the grove space.

Shoot after last year, when we had a seriously bitter wind chill, I figure a wintery mix will stop some but not most of us.

Batimore Sun says:  Chance of rain

Weather.com says:  40% chance of showers but mostly clear in the evening

The National Weather Service says:
Saturday: A chance of showers. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 46. Chance of precipitation is 50%.

Saturday Night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 27.

LOL!  I'm game!

Yeah, let's not have another outdoor Imbolc like last year. My feet seem far less able to tolerate extreme cold than they used to.  :(

Gavin - can't wait for winter to be over

As of tonight's 6 pm forecast on WMAR, the forecast is a high of 38 with a wintry mix of precipitation.  Considering the high temp usually hits around 2-3 pm, it will be closer to freezing when we kick off.

If this forecast comes true, I vote indoors for the ritual.  We can put the food over in the spare room and extrakitchen until we're done.  I'd suggest turning on the spare refrigerator either on Friday or when folks get there Saturday.

I'll keep obsessively monitoring the forecast, as usual.   ;)  :D

Winter boots and TOEWARMERS.  I will try to get by Home Depot or Lowes to see if they have any.  Toewarmers are gifts from the GODS..I know...they told me.

Den wasn't sure if we needed wood for the fire so he's bring a bunch of recycled stuff, it's nice and dry and already broken down so it should burn nicely!

Probably will...as far as I know we don't even have a fire warden for this rite.

Joe emailed me and said he can't make it (he was planning on coming up) due to gas (the fuel kind).  And I know Mark won't be there cause he's admining a LAN this weekend.

But I think I'm slowly coaxing Mark back.

Btw, he's engaged :D
