I wasn't sure about the baby as there is no such size as 9 for babies so I got a size for 9-12 months.  ???  I hit some buy one get 1 free sales.

So sorry Caryn, that was my fault.  The baby wears a size 2 shoe not 9.  Desaun, Janaea and Wesley all were size nine.

Today I stopped by KayBee Toys.  They are going out of business and have big sales going on.  a week or so ago, some guests came by the grove and made a generous donation towards our adopted family.

I purchased for them:
Wesley : play guitar
Desaun : Large Koosh Ball
Janaea: 3 Bratz big babyz (Jade, Cloe and Sasha)
2 barbie my scene dolls (Madison and Chelsea (of course))

I must say that I received quite the education today at the toy store about the "My scene" and Bratz rivalry.  Apparently, the My Scene girls are upscale, bratz posers.  Who knew?!  :D

Jack, just for you ....

Yesterday I stopped by Walmart to exchange the shoes and get a pair that both had the same size.  While there I picked up potatoes flakes, stuffing, canned yams, white rice, and no-cook chocolate pudding.  I looked at baked beans but they all had bacon in them.

The basket still needs:
Gravy
cranberry sauce
green beans (check the label for pork)
maybe some kind of non perishable dessert (cookie or brownie mix?)

What else?

can't go wrong with canned fruit or vegetables, oatmeal, tuna or canned juice. Alex gave some baby food but some more wouldn't hurt.

The oldest boy, Desaun, could use another gift.  He likes sports.

Anyone want to pick up a nerf football?   A Ravens sweatshirt (Men Med)? or something else sports related that a Tween would like.

Any Suggestions?

I just spoke with Carolyn (the mother of the family).  She called me to inform me that her cell phone is going to be turned off because that particular bill is not a priority at this time.  This is the only phone that the family has.  Since we scheduled the gift drop off for Sunday; she wants me to still come by even though I will not be able to call her first.

Anyway, I don't know if there is anything that CLG can or wants to do but I thought that I would mention it.

Please post if you are planning on bringing a canned item for the food basket or a gift for the family.  I will be taking the items to them on Sunday after WWTOO.

I know that Renee will be bringing scarves.

This way if there are gaps that need to be filled, I can try to fill them this evening or tomorrow morning.

Thanks.  :)

I have some canned soups if you want them my mother felt the need when I asked for canned soup to buy me A LOT.  I've got some cream of chicken n some Healthy choice.  I can bring a can or 2.  If you want some home canning I've got a quart of black bean soup (it's good just kind of tired of it, and no one else eats it here so the quart is 2 much).

Either would be excellent.  Please just label the Balck Bean Soup if you choose to bring it along. thanks.  :)

Family:
1 Large box of food  and 1 wicker laundry basket of food(guessimate 80-100 lbs total)
14 lb turkey
$50 gift card to barnes & Noble

Carolyn was very grateful for everything.  It had taken me and Desaun 4 trips to get everything from the car.

I handed him some packages and he looked at one which greatly resembled a football with a bow and asked with a big smile on his face," who is this for?".  Of course I knew so I made a big production of looking at the tag and saying, "well, let's see .... that one is for you".
Really wide eyed and a smile from ear to ear he says, "I really want a football!"
Giving him the Hairy eyeball," football? Did Santa tell you I was bringing a football?" looking around,  "Shhh, that will be our secret".

Duh?  that should be stuffed Snake, not snack.  I don't think that a stuffed snake would make a good snack.  :P
