Will is in the Hospital
« on: June 27, 2009, 07:11:32 AM »
I just got a call from Caryn, Will is in the hospital because one side of his body is numb.  I don't have any details yet, I have no idea if it is a stroke or not, but I will keep everyone updated.

Caryn does not want visitors yet, and they will most likely not be at the high rite today.

The high rite is still on, we'll need to fill in Caryn's parts (I can take some on), and we are still doing some deep cleaning at the Grove before the high rite so definitely plan on being there early (noonish) to clean, mow, or whatever else needs to be done if you were comin to help.

I definitely think we need to reserve a portion of the ritual to send healing energy to Will, if Renee and Gavin are willing.

One good grief!  I wonder if the long plane ride gave him a blolod clot in his legs or something and then it shifted.  Unfortuinately, that can happen on long flights.

Lots of good Reiki coming and I'll be over the Grove ASAP this morning with cleaning gear in hand.

I just got another call from Caryn, no solid news yet but they definitely think he had a stroke.  She doesn't know much at this point, but I think she said symptoms were progressing.

I will be posting updates to twitter, facebook, lj etc from my cell as I'll be leaving for the Grove in about an hour and won't have access to a computer.

Though my LJ access seems to be wonky, so best to just to follow my twitter to be certain since I know that works:

Or if you're on facebook, I know that one works as well.

Okay, thank you Crystal for keeping us updated. I am sending prayers immediately
for both Will and Caryn.  Whatever I can do to help, both the High Rite and the community, let me know.

Any new news?

I'd call Caryn, but I know she doesn't need people calling her right now.

Please keep us posted.

I just stopped in to change clothes, feed the cats/fish and figure out what I want to take back with me.

They are saying at this point that it is a mild but developing stroke on the right side of his brain.  I have not seen his doc yet but they had just done an MRI and an ultrasound for more tests.

I guess I will know more later.

He's at Baltimore Washington Medical Center Room 543

I'd totally go visit and advocate, but I'm quarantined in my own apartment with swine flu.

Caryn, let us know when you and Will are up to having people about and we'll coordinate for you so we don't run y'all over while things are getting back together.

Good wishes, lots of love and loads of Reiki!

Well it was definitely a stroke.  He can still talk but his left arm and leg are numb and hard to use.  I'm sure there will be a period of rehab needed.  I don't know when he will be back to work ...but then I don't think there is any need for that immediately.

Deirdre, CB and Tracy, Kessa and Duncan all stopped by this evening for a little while.

Thanks for all the prayers

So, during the Midsummer rite and throughout the periods of preparation, I was able to take a few photos.

I made this triptych of Tailtiue's Garden for Will, in hopes of a speedy recovery and a reminder that even in dark places, light can be found.

I am attaching an 8x10 filesize so that it may be downloaded and saved and printed by anyone who would like to for whatever reason.

I have a megahuge banner version too; if desired, e-mail the Me.

Way Cool Pic Ashley!

Well Will is doing better but they still want to keep him another day, run some tests to make sure he doesn't have any blood clots in his legs before they put him back on blood thinners and blood pressure meds.

The Phy. Ther. ran him through all the tests except walking because his blood pressure was still elevated like 165/101 so we will do that tomorrow.  They also did an ultrasound of his heart.  I am hoping that he can come home tomorrow but we'll just have to see.  -Sigh-

I went down and visited earlier today and took the bowl of charged crystals down for Caryn and Will to have.  Will was sleepy but in good spirits, and I got to talk to Caryn for a bit.

Will had an ultrasound before I got there and while I was there Caryn and Will found out he had a blood clot in his left leg and needed to have a filter placed to keep it from moving around.  They still hadn't done that when I left this afternoon, so send your prayers!
