New Poll for the website
« on: July 22, 2005, 01:24:14 PM »
I am creating a new poll for the main portion of the website.  The question will be, what charity project should CLG do this fall, but I am in need of some ideas for choices.

My personal favorite is ofcourse STEP (where I work).  For those who don't know we work with individuals with disabilities.  Most of our clients have a psychiatric problems, but we also work with anyone who has a disability.  We help our clients find jobs and we help them keep jobs.

STEP is fine with me.  We've done the clothing for Sheppard Pratt two years now, and since they have that lovely new building, I wouldn't even know where to go.

We could also do something for one of the animal shelters.  They're always in need of specific items and of cash.

Since we're a member group of Ecumenicon, perhaps we could raise funds to sponsor a scholarship or two to the conference.

Instead of going external, this year we could do something internal, like a book drive for the library.  We could start a wish list on Amazon, or Abe and have folks use that as a basis for making donations.

I believe that Baltimore County trains (or at least used to train) volunteers who are willing to work 911 on Christmas and other big holidays.

We could contract with ourselves to support a food pantry for the year, i.e., promise so many bags/pounds of canned goods per month, or the cash to purchase it with.

Our really, really, really basic question is: what kind of activity or activities are we willing to do:

1. Raise Money
2. Collect Stuff
3. Volunteer Time/Labor
