Woo-Damn-Hoo!!!!  17 people showed up today to help out.  We got 2 rooms painted, 1 room spackled, cleaned and prep'ed for painting, a huge amount of work done in the gardens and the area we are clearing of trash and invasive species to make a Mother Earth altar/backyard habitat kind of thing.   We made an amazing amount of progress.

HUSSAH to the folk!  HUSSAH to CedarLight Grove.  We Rock!

I'm typing this outside as strange combat mosquitos are attacking me.

Anyway, adding to Bennu and Caryn, I felt great pride and love when I was up there today.  It was amazing to see.  I wondered if some of it or all of it was a tribute to Isaac.

You looked inside and there were people upstairs, there were people on the mainfloor.  Spackles, paintbrushes and rollers, drop clothes, tape, tools...and everyone doing something specific.

You looked outside and people were in the sanctuary or around the yard or in the back of the yard, pulling weeds, breaking up fallen branches, stacking wood, clearing out the rock piles, mulching, mowing and trimming the grass.

I wonder what the neighbors think is about to happen?  ;-)

Hussah on Hospitality and Friendship

I have to say a big HUSSAH to my grove mates today.  As we were leaving one of the folks came walking back up the steps to say that he had a flat tire.
He had a spare but no jack and no roadside assistance.  Will, Caryn, Ashley, Rebecca were still there.  After much searching, we figured out what he did have and Will & Tom set to work trying to release the spare tire from under the truck bed while Caryn and Ashley went to Pep Boys for fix-a-flat and a tire pump.  On the way, we called Bennu and Phoenix because Bennu has a truck and hopefully a jack.  The spare tire release would not work and there was no owner's manual.  Bennu and Phoenix canceled thier dinner plans and brought the jack.  In the mean time, my friend Kessa called so I had her look up changing a tire on a Chevy Avalanche on the internet.  She read while I repeated the directions and we finally got the tire off the safety latch.  Meanwhile Rebecca had called her husband who is mechanic and he got there about 1.5 hours into this.  We finally got the spare tire out, and truck jacked up only to find out that the lug nuts had been stripped.  Rebecca's husband and Will working together managed to get the nuts off and we FINALLY got the spare tire on the rim.

What is really amazing in all this craziness was that every single person had a small part to play and without them, we could not have gotten Tom back on the road.....at 6:30....

Hussah to the folk!  Hussah to teamwork!  Hussah to the Grove!!

......where is the alcohol!   :-X

I forgot to post this last weekend, but I wanted to throw some Huzzah's out to Daniel for helping not only unload the large marble piece into the Sacristy(?) but also for taking the blue filing cabinets home :)

Also we finished the final Mabon planning in 30 minutes and were cleaned up and ready to go by 2:30.  We can be a well-oiled machine sometimes :D

I would like to post great huge mountainous heaps of thanks to all who helped to clean up last night (most of us left at about 11:30) and who came back this morning to continue helping to clean up.  Will and I finally got out of there at 5:30 today because I just kept on seeing something else that needed to be done.  Yes its an Ares thing.

I still want to get up there and clean the carpet in the parsonage before the folks come in this weekend.

Hussah to Tracy who came and helped me paint and clean Apt B today while I was opening and closing for the Reclaiming group who is renting the main Grove Space for the weekend.

You made the day go by much faster, Thanks!

I'd like to give a shout to Caryn for helping me stay last weekend while the group rented out our spaces.  Everyone that helped out helped to bring an extra $200 to the Grove :)
