Huzzah for everyone who was here late today to dig, sanctify, and place our stone circle. Ashley (our lovely ringleader), Brian, Debbie, Kelly, and several names I've most regrettably forgotten.

Hussah to Ashley and Phoenix who came to help me today with some grove work.  We never got to the painting, but we did get the Samhain deco down and some of the Yule deco up.

Hussah to Will and Loki for bringing up a load of wood and hauling off a bunch of stuff for the dump.

Saw it when we came back from Towson.  I loved the color scheme.  Just beautiful.

Now for the inside...WOW.  From the background scene on the walls, to the Yule tree, to the BEAUTIFUL altar.  Just lovely.  I can't wait to see Dun Elphame when it is finished with the real swags and lights.

Still looking around for antlers.

Hussah to Anna, Brian and Bennu who came to help out at the Grove today.  We got a lot done both upstairs and in the back yard.

The ritual was amazing and everything went as planned and we all deserve a big huzzah for that. We didn't have any problems or even burnt food or a scorched Dun hooray!

However, this post if for a specific person you may not even noticed unless you were inside for an extended period of time like I was. Rebekkah was our Hearth Warden. We have never used this title before but have had this position in the past. In the past we have had some good and some bad and some terrible  hearth wardens. What I saw last night blew my mind. Rebekkah was the very epitome of the virtue of Hospitality. She took tiny cat naps when it was quiet but as soon as someone came in she was there to assist them with food or coffee or whatever they needed. We were never waiting for hot water for tea or hot coffee. The food was put away but left out long enough for us to eat at a comfortable slow pace for those of us who have to eat slow.

At one point I was passed out after I took my meds  and woke up to help clean up the fridge by removing some of the food I brought and found Rebekkah and David scrubbing crock pots. These two were going to town in the middle of the night cleaning the outside of the crock pots. She cleaned out the fridge which is something we should have done before Yule but at least for me I kept forgetting to bring up or do when I was there working. She went above and beyond her job with a smile and compassion and I personally think she deserves a HUGE thank you from every single grove member. She literally kept our Hearth running all night. When it was time for snacks to come out she brought out this tray of cookies she made that was amazing and even I could have three items on that tray (does a happy dance of peppermint, coconut and candied ginger joy). It is people like this in our Grove that often go unnoticed and I do not want to see that happen because she did such and amazing job. I am not sure if she was stuck doing other people's dishes to much. I certainly hope you all did your own dishes (shakes malevolent finger) In years past we have had dishes piled to the ceiling we have had to clean in the morning and that is hell after being up all night.

So again:

A HUGE THANK YOU AND HUZZAH TO REBEKKAH FOR BEING THE BEST HEARTH WARDEN EVER!!!!!!!!!!!

I am currently without appropriate words at how wonderful Rebecca was in her role last night, myself. Girlfriend, you blew my mind with your organizational skills and I often found myself just standing there in awe of your ability to wield this title like it was something you were born into. (Heck, you may have been.) I am working on a special gift for your contributions at Yule, because such work is much deserving of praise.

Joining in on the praise of Rebecca's self-sacrificing generousity thru the Longest Night.  Much appreciated!!!!!
