Peer Counseling Workshop

We have invited Michael Reeder from Brookland Pastoral Center to come teach a workshop on Peer Counseling for our Church Leaders.

PASTORAL CARE DAY-LONG INTENSIVELed by: Michael Reeder, MS, LGPC
Guiding the personal and spiritual growth of individuals by utilizing common counseling techniques and tools in the unique context of contemporary Neo-Paganism. Please bring notes on perplexing pastoral situations. Participants will participate in lecture, discussion, and roleplays.

Presenter Bio:
Michael Reeder, MS, LGPC is a therapist in private practice in the Baltimore/Washington area with Hygeia Counseling Services (http://www.hygeiacounseling.com). He holds a Masters degree in Clinical Community Counseling and a Post-Graduate Certificate in Spiritual and Existential Counseling from Johns Hopkins University. He has run trainings and workshops on counseling and Pagan-related topics including peer counseling at the Univ. of MD HELP Center crisis hotline, using card decks in counseling, Hudes Tarot, existential underpinnings of Pagan religion, forms of male divinity, and the similarities between psychotherapy and Pagan practices. Michael has presented workshops for the Mid-Atlantic Pagan Alliance Beltaine Festival, DragonWings Alliance, and Crescent Moon Coffee Klatch. Michael is a member of Fellowship of the Ancient White Stag — a coven of the Assembly of the Sacred Wheel.

Anyone is welcome to attend as long as they RSVP by July 4th and there are still slots left.
